HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY DENTURES? Rinse your dentures after each meal. Brush them daily using soap(dishwashing liquid works fine), warm water and a soft brush, especially when retiring for the night. Do not use toothpaste on your dentures. As this is abrasive and will scratch them,eventually wearing down your dentures.This will affect the fit, hygiene, and aesthetics of your dentures.
HOW LONG SHOULD MY NEW DENTURES LAST? Your first set of dentures if immediate should last anywhere from 2-6 years depending on your amount of bone resorption.Your second set should last up to 8 years on average provided that they were made well using quality materials. That said they can last up to 30 years but you should have them checked regulary.
HOW MUCH DO DENTURES COST? A set of dentures will cost anywhere from $600 to $3900.This will depend on the amount of teeth being replaced material and the level of aesthetics required.
SHOULD I TAKE MY DENTURES OUT AT NIGHT? The short answer is yes. Removing your dentures at night will give the tissue a rest and promote a healthier oral environment. The important thing is to give the tissue rest and keep your dentures clean and free from un healthy bacteria.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY DENTURES CHECKED? You should have your dentures checked at least every second year. Your mouth changes with time and wearing an ill fitting set of dentures will cause dysfunction in the way you start compensating to keep them from slipping and flipping. The result will be that you will struggle to adapt to new dentures in your later years. quality of life can be impaired if you struggle to enjoy a meal.
